< back to the landingpage with nothing in it Re:Context Militaryparade / Fictional School project 28.09.2023 I set out on a task to create visuals as one of the numerous graphic designers for Mowa Lola's fashion show. The show's theme revolved around the incomprehensible and strange nature of military parades. It raised questions about the purpose and significance of these celebrations,
the essence of war, inhumanity, and humanity, the concept of borders, and the symbolism behind flags. These thoughts served as the inspiration and basis for this project, leading me to manipulate images, paintings, and symbols from the past. I couldn't help but feel a sense of moral unease and ethical dilemma when putting my fingers into these relics, especially when incorporating artificial intelligence into the project, expanding, erasing, and changing the past. It felt like a desecration. At the time of doing this, the AI did not appreciate "threatening" inputs, such as “blood” or “war”. Today it is being utilized for the persecution and surveillance of humans. This project ended up surpassing my initial expectations and turned out to reveal a frightening reality to me, one that none of us knows how to navigate yet.
